My name is Dozier and I'm a 3 year old retriever mix. I am a very smart dog. I know sit, stay, down and I'm also housebroken. My foster mom calls me the gentle giant because I'm very kind but on the larger side at 65 lbs. I walk well on a leash and I jog on a leash even better. But because of my background, I am a little insecure and have a little bit of anxiety. But with a good home and consistent structure to remind me that I have someone I can trust, I am well behaved. Also because of my breed mix, I have a strong desire to chase critters. I would benefit from a large, secure yard and a patient, experienced owner who understands how to divert my attention by playing and other methods. I'm working on this every day and making great strides

About Adopt An ANGEL

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an entirely volunteer adoption outreach program for New Hanover and Brunswick County Animal Controls. We seek to increase their adoptions by bringing animals off site directly to potential adopters. We concentrate on the animals that have run out of time or have special needs. We move them to a safe haven with private citizens, strive to provide them with every veterinary or behavioral need and then we find them a forever home. We also try to educate about the plight of homeless animals in our community and about the necessity for spaying and neutering. We have recently opened a spay and neuter clinic in Winnabow, NC.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have Adoption Fairs every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm, at Petco, located at 324 South College Rd, Wilmington, NC.
