Penny's Story...
Penny is such a sweet lady. But sadly Penny has had a tough go at finding the right safe place for her. In her early years she was attacked by a large dog and had a long recovery which brought her to a foster home with Town and Country. She was loved and cared for in her foster, then Penny thought she may have found her long term owners. No such luck for Penny, she turned out to be more then they were looking for in activity level. SInce being in the kennel we have found her to be sociable with the other dogs and cats. She enjoys her walks and walks beautifully on a leash. She is attentive to the volunteers and is ready to show her gratitude for the time we spend with her. She loves toys, snuggling and treats. If you are looking for an adult dog (3yrs) that wants to be your best bud or traveling companion, PLEASE call us about Penny. She maintains such a sweet demeanor through all of this and really is deserving of a long term family. Call Shelter directly at 530.865.3661 for more information. Email is not reliable as it is checked irregularly by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Orland Pug/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Orland, or seeking a Pug/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Orland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Pug/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orland paves the way for another one to be saved.
