This handsome 2-3 year old, 75 lb, brindle Mastiff mix boy named Zeus was found seriously injured in a field beside a busy highway in rural Tennessee.  We found that Zeus has a fractured pelvis and it has been a long but steady recuperation for him.  Through it all, Zeus remained friendly, sweet and very affectionate.  He is now successfully healed and only has a slight limp when getting up from lying down awhile.  Zeus walks really well on a leash.  He is a very friendly boy that likes new experiences and meeting new people.  He is very smart; he knows “sit” very well and would most likely learn other commands very quickly too.  Despite his past injury, he is playful, energetic, and is a joy to play with.  He doesn't like cats, and he does well with female dogs as long as they are more dominant in nature, not submissive.  We are not sure how well he would get along with other males.  He is bossy with his food when other dogs are around, so he should be fed separately.  Zeus is a loving and very affectionate boy.  HHS.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or

About Critter Cavalry Rescue New England - VT

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?

Our Adoption Process...

Most all our dogs are fostered in Tennessee and transport up to the Northeast or New England. Our fees start at $500 and can be higher depending on the dog and circumstances for their vetting. All fees cover the health certificate, transportation up to designated places for families to pick up their pre-adopted dog, spay/neuter, rabies, all shots, fecal and dewormings, microchip, complete vet check up and 4 way heartworm test if dogs are older than 8 months.
