Indy's Story...

Indy is a goofy 5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is neutered. This boy is very very treat/food driven. He would sell his soul for a piece of meat! He is a silly dog with a crooked ear, very sweet in temperament and gets along well with other dogs. He came to us a bit under weight but we got him up in pounds with a nice healthy coat. He is house trained and uses a doggy door. He is very good around kids and will lick the toes off a baby!
Beware though he is a runner. He could use some training but with the right treats (anything you call food) he could be coerced into listening. He has a thick coat so brushing is necessary. He is a good watch dog and he is a good size dog so if home security is what you are after he is the dog for you. He also likes to howl (bellow) at emergency vehicle noises!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Indy, a Phoenix Rhodesian Ridgeback/Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Greyhound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Greyhound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback/Greyhound breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback/Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
