About Big Hearts Horse Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

For the Love of Horses We Are Dedicated to Helping Horses

Big Hearts Horse Rescue (BHHR) is a 501(c)3 NON PROFIT and is currently located in Salem Oregon. We are here to help as many needy horses as we can get out of bad situations. Along with rehabilitating & re-homing abused & neglected horses, we also try to help owners re-home their own horses. We are here to help in anyway we can, and as our resources allow.

BHHR does not promote the breeding of horses for any reason. Due to the over-breeding of horses, that has contributed to the needy horse crisis in our country, we have a strict NO BREEDING policy. Horses adopted from BHHR may never be used for breeding purposes.

Please visit us on Facebook to see who we are, what we are doing, and to take a look at the great animals that are the reason why we do what we do.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations can be sent online via Paypal or by using the (Paypal) Donation button on our website, or can be mailed to BHHR, PO Box 701, Aumsville OR 97325 Thank You !!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Visits to the BHHR Facility or Horse pastures are always welcome during daytime hours, and seven days a week. However, visits are by appointment only. Please contact us via email at with your phone number, and any questions you may have, so that we can give you a call and schedule the visit.

Special Events & Horse Clinics where the public can meet some of the wonderful BHHR horses, are well publicized and our Big Hearts Horse Rescue Facebook page is a good way to keep updated on what we are doing and when we are doing it.

Our Adoption Process...

To Adopt a horse from you must first fill out an Adoption Application (available on our website or upon request). References on the application will be checked and a site visit (where the horse will be homed) will be done. Our Adoption Contract (also available on our website) will be completed upon approval of the adoption, and the horse's adoption fee will be due at that time.

There are many requirements and stipulations to adopting a horse from BHHR, so please take the time to review the Adoption Contract on before submitting an adoption application.
