Facts about Abbey

  • Breed: Shih Tzu
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Abbey is a 9 year old diabetic but energetic Lhasa Apso. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She is good with cats and other dogs for a short time so she would do best as the only dog in an adult home. She is a good watch dog and a very lovable companion. She is laid back and loves to roll over and get her belly rubbed. She loves to be outside and go for walks where she will tolerate other dogs for short period of time only and she listens well.

Abbey is a diabetic so she needs two shots of 8 units of insulin a day (It's currently given at 8;30am and 8:30pm but can be set to any 12 hour schedule and she needs to eat right before shot. She goes in crate willingly if needed. Rarely barks and can be picked up.

She will come with a Crate, dog bed, Leash, Collar, Blanket, Toys, fur jacket, Winter sweater, misc cleaning items, food, treats, microchip, and everything she needs for her diabetes (insulin, syringes with sharpes container for disposal, & glucose monitor)

If you can help this girl out email Caredogvolunteers@gmail.com or call 508-994-0220.
All dogs are in foster homes in MA and not at the shelter in Acushnet. Please call or email for information on location.
