Facts about Dahlia

  • Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: D2015288
Dahlia was found living in a cemetery and was in poor condition, emaciated with skin issues.   Her finder took her to a kill shelter, where Texas Animal Society promptly went to work in getting her out of there and into foster care.  She went into a foster home and quickly put on weight and her skin issues were resolved as her diet greatly improved. She tested high heartworm positive and the vet advised against fast kill, so she started the slow kill hw treatment.  At her annual check up the following year, she tested HW negative.  YAY!!  Dahliais a very devoted and well behaved velcro dog.  She is eager to please and endlessly loyal.  She gets along well with other dogs – even young puppies.  She is great with kids.  She does have some anxiety issues with being crated and during storms. She is crated while her foster is at work, but it needs to be sturdy kennel.  Dahlia had a rough life up until she was saved and deserves the security of a loving and attentive forever home.Interested in adopting a companion dog or cat from Texas Animal Society?

About Texas Animal Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Our goal is to promote the health and care of pets in your community through involvement, education and prevention (spay/neuter), to give a voice to the animals in need and to provide a means for others to help in the plight of dogs and cats in need of assistance, care and homes. Through the means of rescue, volunteering and fostering we can help accomplish the ultimate goal of providing quality care and humane livelihood for dogs and cats in Texas. We strive to work with individuals, county facilities, other rescues and local communities.

Founded in 2011 as MCASociety to support our local animal shelter, we soon learned we should strive to do more and rebranded to Texas Animal Society. Reaching beyond our local shelter to help the community and others as well as our shelter.

TAS is strictly operated by donations. All donations directly benefit animal welfare and care of dogs and cats.
Please consider donating to TAS for the continued rescue efforts and vetting for dogs and cats in need.
