Good Day! My name is Duncan. I am a Treeing Walker Coonhound, I think. That’s what I’ve been told.
I’m an older gentleman, but I’m still really active. Mostly when there is the possibility of food! Food! Glorious food!!! I have an incredible zest for life! Especially food!! I’d love to introduce an adoptive owner to nose-work, which I truly excel at. Then I could get some food. After that, we could snooze on the couch together! I also have a beautiful deep bay. People comment on my loud, full voice, so I sing for them. Especially at mealtimes. I’m kind of a handful at mealtimes, but I will sit and wait politely if you ask, while I tremble in anticipation. The way to my heart is most definitely through my stomach.
It is hard for me to find a home because, I'm embarrassed to say, I've bitten people a couple of times. I used to get really over-excited, you see, and get a little out of control. I guess that’s why I’m still here. I am on medication now, which has really made a difference in my life. Now that I'm on it, I have a lot more inner peace than I did when I was a younger dog, but it's really hard to shake that bad name. So if you want an old hound dog with a tattered reputation, I’m your guy.
