Skye's Story...

Please, use the application provided at: www.howlin4spirit.org/adoption-application/

Skye(dob:~2/11/14) was rescued from an abandoned apartment, along with 16 other dogs, 1 dead, no food or water. Skye gave birth 3 days later to 7 pups, 4 survived and are doing well. Skye leads with her Australian Cattle Dog breed traits, with confidence. She knows love and looks to her leader, despite the horrible situation she was found in and will make an excellent companion animal. Stunningly beautiful, and very SMART. Walks well on-leash and we feel certain that she is housebroken, with a short refresher course. WANTS to please! And, loves to explore and have room to exercise. Herding is what ACDs do best, so she will need a 6'fence or plenty of daily exercise/agility training would be best for her energy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skye, a South Burlington Australian Cattle Dog/Feist dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Feist for sale in South Burlington, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Feist dog from a breeder in South Burlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Burlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Burlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Feist breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Feist rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Burlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
