My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All of the Farfel's Rescue volunteers hi-fived each other when we got the news that Ivy, the adorable Cairn Terrier/Norfolk Terrier puppy was safe! We had all been on edge all day waiting for the word that this adorable puppy who is so loving and kind was out of the shelter and truly safe. The reality that makes our hearts sad is that Ivy, at only 13 weeks old, was about to be euthanized simply because the high-kill shelter had run out of cages.

Ivy is a wonderful, cuddly puppy (as well as a lap-dog extraordinaire) and at just 3 months old and 7 lbs (Ivy is expected to weigh about 14 lbs when full-grown). She is a truly beautiful girl who has the most stunning brindle coloring ever. She also has been identified with a great temperament...she has a great personality that is very engaging and kind. Ivy deserves a great forever home that will give her a solid and loving start in life.

At this point, Ivy loves other dogs and every human she's ever encountered. We would love Ivy's great presence to be nurtured with positive and clear guidelines through puppy socialization classes and Group Obedience. She responds so well to boundaries that are clear and lovingly communicated.

Ivy is a healthy and active young pup who would be head over heels with joy to experience the beauty of Colorado and spend fun, outdoor time with her favorite people and canines. Ivy is a blank slate at this point.... just waiting to be taught appropriate behavior to be the greatest adult dog ever! She has the capability to truly shine if given huge amounts of love and recognition/treats for great behavior.

We are searching for a family that is motivated to spend the time necessary to train this young pup with the great temperament....they will be rewarded a thousand times over with loyalty and devotion. We think Ivy would be very happy with either an active retired couple (or individual) or a family that enjoys spending lots of quality time with their puppy. She's been great in the car and would be very excited to learn the socialization skills that will enable her to accompany her family virtually everywhere they go.

Ivy appears to be a non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) puppy who will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be perfect) to keep her coat shiny and healthy. Ivy is not suggested for those with extremely severe allergy concerns.

Ivy will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 12/11/15. Applications and inquiries are currently being accepted for our sweet puppy with the dark, expressive eyes. If interested in this loving ...and often very fun and entertaining companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
