Hercules's Story...
Hercules! Hercules! I've got a big strong name but my foster mom calls me her little polar bear. I'm a 40-lb staffie mix who is about two years old. I'm hard of hearing so it will take a special family to work with me. I've got a lot of energy because I'm a younger guy so I will also need my new family to continue the work my foster family has started. An obedience class or two would be a great idea when I move in with you. I am crate trained but can get really excited when I get let out of my crate. It just makes me so happy to see my people! I like to play with my toys (especially if I can shred them) and really love a good Nylabone. I'm a lovey dovey boy and would love to be cozy with your arm around me when I calm down. Because my hearing isn't great, I like to see your face and know where you are to feel comfortable. Even though I'm a confident guy, a home with no other dogs would be best for me. I've never met a cat before, so my foster family isn't sure how I would do with cats. Before I move into your house, I will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. If you're a family who is willing to help out a special guy like me, please apply at RescueOfHope.com. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hercules, a Grand Rapids American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
