STITCH's Story...
My name is Stitch and I keep my foster family in stitches with my crazy antics! I am about a year old Sheltie cross from way up north. I'm a medium sized dog weighing in at 35 pounds right now. I am fully housetrained and non-destructive (but I love to lick and suck on blankets so my foster mom gave me my own blanket. It's really soft and cuddly). I'm not too happy in a crate so my foster mom leaves me to roam the main floor of the house while no one is at home and I don't do anything except sleep on the couch! I love to snuggle and play with my foster family and my fur-neighbours! I haven't been tested on cats so I don't know what to think about them yet. When we go on walks, I like to smell Everything! I'm pretty good on leash and definitely will not pull your arm out of your socket. Overall, my foster mom says I'm a really good pup who needs a loving, active home to call my own and if that home includes kids, that would be even better!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

STITCH, a Peterborough Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Peterborough, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Peterborough.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Peterborough already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Peterborough breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Peterborough paves the way for another one to be saved.
