Mooshu can be seen by appointment only. Please email us to set up a time to meet him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mooshu is one of the most adorable senior Pekingese around! He is about 12-13 years old and 14 pounds. Mooshu is such a happy little man most of the time and is constantly making his foster family smile. He is good with other dogs outside the home as long as they aren't too in his face but needs to be an only pet in his forever home.
Mooshu is a very chill dude. He would do best in a calm home without children as he does not like a lot of action in his environment (even dogs playing excitedly can make him upset). He is potty trained, crate trained and leash trained. He LOVES to play with his favorite stuffed toys. He would make a great office pet as he is very calm, quite and relaxed in most situations. Mooshu prefers to rest on the floor or in a dog bed and is not interested in cuddling with his humans. On a very rare occasion he will ask to come up on the couch but this can only be done on his terms.
Mooshu would do best with an owner with dog experience since he occasionally will get crabby about people coming into his space and being picked up. We are working on this behavior and he is getting better with a strong pack leader. He is so adorable and sweet, we can't wait for him to find his perfect forever home!!
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
