'Your final stop for your furever friend!'

Leonard is one of seven Mountain Cur mix puppies born the first night their mother was rescued after being dumped in Livingston Parish. Leonard will be a year and a half old on March 14, 2017.  He weighs around 55 lbs.

Leonard loves everyone and loves to give kisses.  He seems to naturally flock to children.  He is one happy go lucky little boy!  Leonard needs an adopter who will spend time with him and make sure he gets proper exercise and attention.  Leonard is SUPER smart — as are Mountain Curs dogs. He also has a super duper nose!  Leonard has been introduced to and competed in “Barn Hunt” (a new dog sport).  In his first trial, Leonard earned two qualifying runs/legs towards his Barn Hunt Novice title!  Leonard would be a fun dog for someone who would like to get involved in Barn Hunt or tracking.

Leonard gets along with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. He is extremely interested in squirrels and cats, so he needs a home without cats.  Leonard is neutered, up to date on all of his shots, on heartworm prevention and has been microchipped. Adoption fee $100.

For more information on Leonard, please go to www.facebook.com/TickfawThrowAway

Please email norriegirl@gmail.com to request an adoption application.

We require that ALL current household pets be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and up to date on heartworm prevention. We will require confirmation from your veterinarian. If renting, we must have landlord approval. A fence is not a requirement for ALL of our dogs. Fences are a case-by-case determination.

Our Adoption Process...

The Pit Stop adoption process:
You will first need to complete a Pre-Adoption Application. Once you have returned the application, we will review it and send it back to you with any questions/concerns that we may have. If all checks out, you will be approved.
One approved, we will come out to your home for a home visit and bring the dog(s) that you are interested in adopting or dog(s) that we believe would be a perfect fit for you and your family.
Once the home check is complete and approved, we will offer to have the dog you are interested in stay with you for a few days to make sure everything works out. If everything works out, you are ready to adopt!
During the adoption, there will be a contract that will be signed, one copy for adopter & one copy for the rescue. We will provide you with all current vet records. In the contract, you agree to not neglect the dog, not tie up the dog, keep dog current on vaccination & you agree to allow your vet to release all records to the rescue as we will follow up. We will do un-scheduled home visits to check to make sure the dog is being taken care of. In the contract, you will agree to update us on change of address/phone number and keep us current with happy trails and pictures.
