My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vixen and her eight brothers and sisters arrived in Chicago during the first winter snowstorm, so we named them after Santa's reindeer! The pups were about 9 weeks old Dec. 2, and just weaned. Their mom, Elsie, a forty-five pound very sweet shepherd mix, is also available for adoption. We have no idea where Vixen got her blue eye from, since her dad is unknown. Only those willing to take pot-luck in terms of her ultimate appearance and size should apply; don't let those mis-matched eyes bewitch you!

Vixen is an independent, yet out-going pup, who loves to play with other dogs. Vixen would do well with a doggy playmate, but she would also be fine as an only dog. She is well on her way to being house trained and knows to potty outside. Because she is so young, she will need someone home during the day to keep her on a potty schedule and keep her exercised and stimulated, since she is also very smart. Vixen will be ready for puppy school soon, another adoption requirement.

You can meet Vixen at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette, during normal business hours (847-251-6750). Although she is cute you will want to take her home on the spot, please note you will have to submit an application for adoption, and that we can't guarantee she will still be available.

Vixen's adoption fee is $375, which includes a vet exam, DHAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick preventative, heartworm preventative, and spay.
