Rocky is a 7-year-old, neutered male, brown tabby Domestic Shorthair cat.

Rocky is currently in foster care. He is a big, luxurious, handsome rock star of a cat; Friendly and cuddly.  Rocky was declawed some time in his past, and is also micro-chipped neutered, and current on all vaccinations.  He loves to chase laser pointers and tennis balls down the hallway.  He thinks the best tasting water comes out of the bathroom sink and will ask you to turn it on for him.  Rocky is a special needs kitty in that he has diabetes. He requires twice-a-day insulin shots, but don’t let that scare you – they are really easy to do!  His foster mom gives him a dish of canned food right before each shot, and Rocky does not even look up from the dish when the shot is administered.  His favorite treat is canned salmon.  He is excited to find his forever home. Please give us a call if you have any questions. We’d love to help!

About Cat's Cradle of the Shenandoah Valley

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

Our Adoption Process...

Please see our website: for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.
