Facts about Twinkle

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Calico Or Dilute Calico
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 15EK103
  • Hair: Short
Little Twinkle, a dilute calico, found herself in a local shelter this summer and was very unhappy there. She stopped eating and lost several pounds. She was clearly lonely and depressed in the shelter.

At her first veterinary appointment, it was discovered that she's a real traveler, with a microchip that was inserted five years ago in Connecticut! Her former owner could not be located - the information on the chip was out of date.

When FOR took her into the foster program, she was very thin and nervous, with dull, listless eyes and fur. At her new foster home, she stayed constantly on a kitchen counter (where the food was), tense and afraid to get down.

But a couple of months in her foster home have made a huge difference! She's peaceful, friendly, very calm and has gained back the weight she lost. Her eyes are bright and her fur is soft and fluffy. She lives all over the house now, not just on the kitchen counter, and has even learned the joys of hopping up into someone's lap for some kitty snuggles. She's not a lap cat, she's actually more of a "laptop" cat - she loves to sit nearby while you work on your computer!

Twinkle is a dilute calico, with little twinkles of orange scattered in her grey and cream colored fur. She is a little over five years old - the Connecticut microchip was inserted in 2010 when she was four months old. She is healthy and has been spayed; she tested negative for FeLV and FIV and is current on her FVRCP and rabies vaccinations. She's ready for her forever home!

Although Twinkle's foster home has three dogs and three other cats, she would probably adjust best to a home with one or two other calm cats. She gets along fine with the critters in her foster home, but she clearly prefers peaceful, quiet surroundings. Her perfect forever home would be one where she had another calm adult cat for company and a human or two who can let her adjust at her own pace.

Twinkle is fostered in Huntsville, Alabama. If you're interested in meeting her, please contact and ask about Twinkle!

About Friends of Rescue - Chattanooga, TN

About Our Rescue Group...

Friends of Rescue is a certified 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2009, consisting of volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter animals that are in danger of euthanasia. Southern shelters have a constant overflow of dogs and cats, little funding, and limited space. Once the animals arrive at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these adoptable animals and find loving individuals/families who will provide committed, FORever homes. We are NOT professional trainers or animal behaviorists; simply volunteers who are trying to save these animals from euthanasia. Each animal in our program is in a foster home and receives all age-appropriate vetting while in our care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our animals are mostly fostered in northern Alabama. But we have many wonderful adopters who come from the Tennessee area to adopt our wonderful adoptables.
