Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“As the poet says, all happy couples are alike, it's the unhappy ones who create the stories. I'm no longer a story. Happiness has made me fade into real life.” - Charles Baxter 'The Feast of Love'
Well Baxter actually does have a story but it is destined for a very happy ending where he too will gladly fade into 'real life'. Baxter is a five month old tan/lab beagle mix who currently weighs 25 lbs and will likely be no more than 35 lbs full grown. Foster mom says he doesn't have big ole paws to grow into so we don't believe he will be a very big boy. He is, however, absolutely adorable! He is sweet, calm, and gentle and he is the kind of baby who is going to strongly bond with his adoring parent(s). He is great with people and other dogs. Foster mom does not have kids or cats on board but she says with his loving personality he should do just fine with both. Baxter is a smart little guy eager to please. He quickly learned to sit on command and has had no accidents in the house. Baxter is crate trained, admittedly it is not his favorite place to be just yet but he does settle in and go to sleep after a few minutes of puppy talk (okay he whines for a few minutes) much like any child who does not wish to go to bed because he might miss something. Foster mom says he is a real cuddle bug which is always a plus on chilly nights (or any time really). He is a pretty typical puppy when it comes to toys....he LOVES them all! Baxter is already neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on preventatives. He is ready for the epilogue that concludes all the current chapters of his life. This would be the part that says 'and so it was that Baxter, the once unloved shelter throw away, found the love of his life and they went on to live happily together for many many years.' Happiness....fade into the real life of a forever and always home. The End
