Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY LISTING for PENNY. This dog is not at Oregon Dachshund Rescue. For information please call Jenell at 503-313-3220.
MEET PENNY… a 4 year old dachshund/chihuahua mix. She is dapple/blue/grey color and is approx. 9 lbs. She is a short hair and is spayed. She is also microchipped and finds herself in need of a new forever family. Penny is house trained, car trained and leash trained (though can pull a bit when excited). She LOVES riding in the motor home and does great in the car. Penny really enjoys being with her people. She loves sleeping in laps and in bed with her humans. She is very affectionate and loyal. She enjoys playing with her toys and is very smart. She has had some basic training, but her previous family didn’t have time to work on her training as much as they’d like to have. Penny is very healthy and is up to date on her shots and flea treatments, though she could do with a teeth cleaning.
Penny will do best in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home/retired) and possibly older children (over age 12 years), who are familiar with the special needs of Dachshunds and Chihuahuas. She really needs to be the only fur child in the home where she can get and give all the love she needs and wants to share.
ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
