Look at this beauty!
Alana is a stunning 3 year old Walker Hound weighing in at 65 lbs. This girl is as sweet as they come. Her temperament is so lovely that the shelter she came from gave her the prestigious title of dog tester.
Alana is very tolerant, enjoys being active but also can be very relaxed.
Alana would love to have a fenced in yard and a loyal family that will give her the love she deserves. As you can see by one of the photos, she gets along with all size dogs!

About K-9 New Life

About Our Rescue Group...

K-9 New Life is an all breed, no-kill dog rescue organization located in southeast Virginia. We are registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The mission of K-9 New Life is to take in dogs from shelters when they have run out of time or are injured or too sick for the shelters to handle. We provide them with health care, rehabilitation, training, and a loving foster home until they can be adopted. Our focus is to give these less fortunate dogs a second chance to live the life they deserve.

Our Adoption Process...

Our goal is to find loving, lifelong homes for our dogs.

We require an adoption application, a home inspection, and $250 adoption donation. This helps pay for medical care, dog food, and supplies.

To ensure we find the best homes for dogs in our care, our adoption process involves several steps. Adopting a dog requires a commitment of love and responsibility for the welfare of the animal, just as you would have for a human member of your family. Please consider the challenges that come with owning a dog as these challenges are often the reason many pets end up in shelters.

1. Complete our online adoption application:

2. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you.

3. A home check is done to ensure the dog will live in a suitable environment.

4. A meet and greet will be arranged for the adopter and the dog(s) of interest.

5. An adoption contract must be completed to finalize the adoption process.

Prior to adoption, all of our dogs receive a general veterinary checkup, vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (treatment, if necessary), heart worm/flea/tick prevention, and spay/neuter.
