My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update: Beulah's been with us for awhile now...and she's getting a bit impatient for a new home. She's decided she'd like to chase cats, which after all, is a normal dog behavior....she also would prefer to live with a male dog or pehaps be the only pet. She is a great dog and is looking for a SAVVY owner, one who knows the breed, is super responsible, and will go out of their way to give Beulah the life she deserves. Because of her strength and size we would preferr placing her in a home with no small children.

Beulah Butterfly's Story: How do you feel when a gentle breeze crosses your path on a warm summer's day? That is what happened to me the minute I met this lovely, sweet, gentile lady!! I was not the only one that felt this way-such a great dog.!! The first time I saw her -I thought she was a well trained black lab just lying on her bed taking in the action. She had a frisky male black lab that was demanding attention on one side of her and a sweet white Bulldog mix on the other side of her -wiggly wiggly!! She just laid there so content to be part of the group. She reminded me of a person who has all the patience in the world, always proper, never stressed and just comforting to the rest of us that are always that way.( in a hurry, stressed etc). When I stepped in front of her run she still remained still just watching me- when I crouched down and said come girl- she moved slowly toward my outreached hand-no jumping and placed her head in my hand- well -I have to tell you -her paw print was already on my heart-I loved her in an instant!! What I was to find out later is that every person that met her had felt the same way -when she had been brought in as a stray and all were trying to convince husbands, parents and significant others that one more dog would complete their families- she would be the example the other furry babies were sure to follow- hadn't we all felt that way- a soft breeze on warm summers day that refreshed and calmed and made one fall in love or remember what is was like a long time ago to fall in love. Special rules apply to her breed if interested please email this shelter for an application and more information.
