Kodiak's Story...
Hello! My name is Kodiak and I am so happy happy happy! I am a 1 year old blackish-brown and white, neutered male Domestic Short hair. I was brought to the shelter because I was unceremoniously dumped on a gentleman's front lawn and he didn't know who dumped me nor could he keep me himself. I can't say I wasn't a little miffed by the situation. Of course not with the gentleman who was the owner of the lawn but with the people who forsake me. I am certain I was a good boy and never caused any problems but one can never say what is in the minds of men! Enough about all of that, I have since gotten over my hurts from my past with the help of all of the nice people here at the shelter and they have made a vow to find me a loving family that will spend the rest of our days together loving me and sharing their home. I have so much love to give and I am just waiting for the right family to come see me so I can show them. Please let me love you and love me in return.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kodiak, a Murphysboro Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
