Candy's Story...
Candy has quite the rescue story of how she came to be at our shelter! We had had many calls about a domestic bunny being abandoned at the end of a street near our facility one afternoon. We were able to gather a team of 5 people to attempt to catch her. One person went into the thick blackberry brambles to try and find her, which caused her to jump out into the grass! This allowed the rest of us to surround her with a mesh fence and corral her into a large crate. She was safe!! Candy has now been spayed and is enjoying her large cage with lots of veggies every day. She is a big gal, and will require the appropriate sized cage. Please give us a call to meet this special girl! 604-945-0125

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Candy, a Port Coquitlam New Zealand was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a New Zealand for sale in Port Coquitlam, or seeking a New Zealand from a breeder in Port Coquitlam.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Coquitlam already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Coquitlam breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even New Zealand breeders who help with New Zealand rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Coquitlam paves the way for another one to be saved.
