Trudy's Story...
What do you get when you take a young girl who was found tied to an abandoned house and left by the family she thought loved her and take her to safety in a shelter that showers her with love? We'll tell you. You get a very grateful, very affectionate girl who has won over everyone's heart in that shelter. That's our Trudy. Our beautiful girl is about 18 months old and a Collie mix. To imagine that anyone could think so little of this girl is beyond our realm of reasoning. Trudy is so incredibly sweet. A little shy at first, which is completely to be expected, but she warms up quickly. She's a pretty quiet little girl, also. She is very observant, which is an indicator of a very smart pup. Being loved on seems to be her favorite thing in the world. They say that most dogs don't like to be hugged, but this one sure does. She just melts when given special attention. She thinks life is good now, being in a safe place, having people that love her and having her needs met. Sweet girl has no clue what real life is like, life inside a home with people who treasure her. But we do, and that is one of our Chrisrmas wishes this year. How we would love to see her in a loving, happy home for the holidays. A home with a family that includes her in the joy of the season, and all seasons moving forward. Trudy is the kind of girl who would settle into a new home and be a poster girl for the incredible bond shared between humans and their dogs. For all the love you could show her, she would give it back, tri-fold. If you are considering a new family member, we invite you to come out and meet Trudy. If you are the type of prospective adopter who expects a new pup to come right up to you at the first meeting and immediately act as if she has known you all of her life, Trudy is probably not your girl. If you are the type of adopter who looks deeply into the eyes and heart of new dog and sees the potential and the sweet soul that lies beneath, Trudy is definitely your girl. It's not hard to see through her eyes and into her heart and soul, if you know what you are looking for. She has so incredibly much to give, given the opportunity.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trudy, a Jackson Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
