Hi, I'm Barney and I am special. You have to have a special kind of love and heart to adopt a rescue dog. You have to have that same heart and love multiplied to adopt a special needs rescue dog like me. I am a sturdy (approx. 50 lbs) little hound mix of some kind. I am a bit shy and afraid of people I first meet. But if you are quiet and gentle and persistent, I will eventually come to trust you. Especially if you have treats and specifically Pupperoni. I love them! My special need isn't really that big of a deal. You see, I am partially blind, but I do fine, really! The sight in my one eye is mostly gone and the other eye isn't that great. I can tell who you are by smelling you and if I recognize your smell I get very excited and happy. I love to play with tug toys and I love to eat. I also love to find treats that have been hidden in a box or homemade toy. In the summertime, I'll even let them hose me down to cool me off! I would love to snuggle up to my own person every night and inhale the wonderful aroma of the person who saved me. If you like Pupperoni and tug-o-war, you might just be my soulmate! ksb 12/15

Our Adoption Process...
We have very high expectations for anyone adopting an animal from Hallie Hill. Please only consider adopting a pet from us if you are willing to provide the best of care. We have an application that must be approved and an agreement that is signed before adoption that asks adopters to pledge the following: •To provide quality food and medical care (including heartworm prevention). •To provide a secure environment /fenced in area. •To provide patience and love. •To return the animal to Hallie Hill in the event that you are unable (for any reason) to continue to provide for the pet. We will pick it up if necessary.
Thank You! Your message has been sent to Hallie Hill.
You'll receive a copy, too, at
to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
