Facts about Sonny-Pending

  • Breed: Boston Terrier
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Sonny is a 2 year old boston terrier. His name has been changed since we took him into our rescue. We do this because we feel dogs may associated thier name He was bought from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old. The lady who bought him returned him after 6 months. Her daughter was not good with the dog and Sonny was mistreated. He developed fear of the little girl and was forced to protect himself from her. Once Sonny was returned to the breeder and spent the next year in a half in a kennel by himself. Sonny does have issues with some people and is afraid of them. He has gone through rehab in one of our foster homes and is doing well. He is a very loving boy and loves attention. He loves to sit on the couch and be with people but he can be people selective. We think he would do best in a home with a single person. He is afraid of younger children and very active children. He does fine with kids that are calm and respect his space because of this we do not recommend him for a home that has kids. He will be neutered, heartworm tested, given his yearly vaccine, rabies vaccine, wormed, on heart worm and flea prevention, and micro chipped before going to his forever home. About Changing Hearts Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We currently have several dogs waiting to come into our rescue. We have at least 10 dogs waiting for a foster home to open up. We have several breeder release dogs coming in. Most are very social just need to learn how to live in a home. If you are interested in fostering please email.

We are often asked.....What happens if one of the dogs in your rescue never finds a home? If we have a dog in our care for an extended period of time we will reach out to other rescues to help find a place that can help. This has only happened a few times. We only do this if we have exhausted all of our resources first.

WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!!!! We currently have 4 foster homes. In order for us to save animals we need many more! If you are interested in learning about becoming a foster parent please email us!

Transporters needed! We are looking for a few transporters to help us. Sometimes we receive emails from other states asking for our help but because of the distance we can not help with out transporters.

We also are in need of donations. We accept newspaper, paper towels, crates, exercise pens, dog kennels, collars, leashes, food and water dishes, dog food, cleaning supplies, etc. If you have any of these items you would like to donate please email!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We currently do not have any adoption events scheduled.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees.............Our adoption fees vary. Adoption fees help us recoup some of the expenses we spend saving these animals and vetting them. Our animals are not for sale. Our adoption fees normally start out a 75$ and can go as high as 475$. Out typical fees are 275.00-325.00. Adoption fees are payable in certified checks or cash. We do not accept credit cards, money orders, or personal checks.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals please don't hesitate to email us at We do adopt to other states other than Ohio. All adopters are required to come to our foster homes. We prefer for you to see the environment they have been in while with us. We also require all potential adopters to submit an application to adopt and be APPROVED before you can visit any of our adoptable. We will not adopt to anyone under the age of 24.
