Don’t let Brodie’s size fool you – he has a huge heart and absolutely LOVES life! He came to us from a neglectful situation but in a short time in foster care, Brodie has come out of his shell and showed us what a vibrant personality he has! He’s a five-pound Pomeranian/Chihuahua cross who is only three-years-old. He’s still got a lot of puppy-like tendencies in his playfulness. His family calls him a little burrito because he loves to roll around on the couch! Brodie is great with other dogs and people. We’re not sure how he is with cats or kids, but we suspect he’d be fine as long as they are gentle and caring. Brodie can be a bit timid when meeting new people for the first time, but he warms up quickly!
Brodie’s previous owner did not have time to work on much training with him, so he’s a bit of a work-in-progress. His foster family has been doing lots of work with him and he already developed his housetraining in a big way! Brodie now knows many of his basic commands and will come when you call him. His favourite new thing is going for walks outside (something he rarely got to do in his past life), so while he’s quite eager on a leash, he walks quite well. Brodie is a very smart dog and would benefit from a household that can continue working with him to help him be the shining star he’s destined to be!
He’s a happy-go-lucky guy, so not much upsets Brodie. However, he really, really loves to be with humans, so he isn’t a happy camper when left alone. What makes his heart warm is a cozy lap to curl up in, playing fetch with his tennis ball, or cuddling during “family time.” Brodie would do well in a house with another dog but doesn’t necessarily need it – what he’d love best is a family that has the time and energy to devote to him. With his adaptable personality, we can see Brodie fitting in nicely with a retried couple, an energetic family, or any household where he’ll get he attention he deserves.
