My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Riley is a gorgeous 3 year old 15 pound Shih Tzu. He has thick soft hair and a pretty prance when he walks. Riley lost his right eye due to a minor injury that was not treated properly, and as a result that eye has to be removed. Because his face hair is black, it will barely be noticeable. If you look closely you will see that his right eye is open, but the eye is collapsed. It has been surgically closed up so it won't be injured accidentally or become infected. Riley has no vision in that eye anyway, so it will be better if the opening is closed up permanently.

Riley was raised by a single woman who loved him to death but didn't socialize him at an early age with people, dogs or new things. As a result, Riley is a bit timid and needs a bit of time to adjust to new things. He's very affectionate, but most likely because of the eye injury that has plagued him for the past year, he is reluctant to let you touch his face or pick him up. Riley is nippy, but he does not bite hard. We think this will diminish once he is settled in a new home.

Riley has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. His adoption fee is $250.00.
