My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Cairn Terrier/Jack Russell mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their great intelligence, devoted temperaments and extremely loving ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and generally very kind and playful with family members and other dogs.

Henry is just a pup and is learning about the ways of the world. He loves his neighborhood walks with his foster and is learning socialization skills...he's a very engaging and cuddly guy! At any time a fun adventure is the order of the day - count Henry in! Terriers are known to engage joyfully and energetically and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines.

Henry is a cute as can be.. and very sweet guy who favors the look and loyalty of the Cairn while taking on the very intelligent and engaging qualities of the Jack Russell. Henry appears to be a non-shedding ..or very lightly shedding pup - it's difficult to tell until his post-shelter coat grows in. Henry will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition (salmon oil would be a great supplement for Henry) to keep his coat healthy with a cottony-soft feel.

Henry's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes close playmates everywhere he goes. Henry is friendly (while perhaps initially shy) and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a close companion. You know when a loved one approaches, Henry's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Henry goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion.

Henry is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Terrier breed. At 7 months old and just about 10 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 14 lbs when full-grown), Henry seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. He has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Henry in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he'd love to be involved and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important member.

Henry would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young dog. Henry would be overjoyed to accompany his favorite people to the park, walking beautiful Colorado trails and even just riding shotgun running errands. Henry doesn't require another dog to be happy.(as long as he gets both physical exercise and mental stimulation from his people). He does, however, enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs.

Henry will arrive on transport in Boulder on 12/22/15. If interested in this very loving and devoted puppy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
