Bear's Story...
We sure feel sorry for Bear and his previous owner. They were quite the team until the owner got ill and could no longer care for Bear; both were sad about this. Bear is a nine year old Lab that lived inside until his owner got sick, he then was put outdoors. Bear did not understand this and it made the family sad that he was outside due to his owner's illness. The family hopes someone will give this senior another safe, happy and warm home. Because Bear is nine years old he is available through our Adopt A Senior Program that offers special incentives to potential adopters. Bear is house trained but may need a refresher since he was outside recently. He knows how to sit and shake and is friendly with children. Bear can get along with other dogs but no cats please!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Somerset Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Somerset, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Somerset.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Somerset already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Somerset breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Somerset paves the way for another one to be saved.
