Important Note

Sheba is best friends with Elsa 2. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Hi, I'm Sheba. I used to live with a family along with my brother, and two other boys. We all got on well, but then the family had to move to a place that didn't allow dogs. So I ended up in a shelter with the 3 boys. My brother got adopted right away, and I was all alone in the kennel. It scared me a LOT! I was shaking so hard all the time. But this nice lady came and took me to her house. Now I have a fur brother and sisters again. It's MUCH nicer here than at the shelter, and it makes it very easy to show what a good girl I can be.
Sheba is a quiet, calm, easy-going dog who loves to cuddle. She wants to be the dominant dog in a multi-dog household and sometimes needs reminding that the human is the alpha.
Sheba met Elsa at their foster's house. They get on extremely well and have become bonded during the months they've lived together. They're usually found lying next to (or on top of) each other, and cleaning each other's eyes and ears.
Sheba's spayed and her teeth are clean so she is ready for a fur-ever home! She weighs 8 lbs and is about 5 years old. Her adoption fee is $250.

About Chihuahua Rescue Indiana- Indianapolis Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations are up to the individual and are made to a not for profit organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at local Petsmarts, Pet Supply Plus, and Petcos. The dates are fluid and they do coincide with the nationally advertised adoption events at the locales.

Our Adoption Process...

**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee, we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption inquiry, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control or Humane Society to do a home visit and give us the go ahead to adopt.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.
