Edie's Story...
Hey peeps, my name is Edie, and I'm a two year old, six pound, Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix. Don't let my small size fool you though because I'm a big bundle of personality. You know the old saying, "good things come in small packages". Well they are absolutely correct, and I'm living proof! For the most part, I'm content to cuddle with my foster mom on the couch and watch television or snooze in front of the fire place. However, when I get excited, I jump and bounce all over the place. My foster mommy thinks I'm part Kangaroo too. When I'm REALLY excited, I can jump all the way up to her hip! I must also be part cat because one of my favorite places to lay is on the back of the couch. I get along with all the other furry critters in the house (cats and dogs) but my favorite friend is another foster puppy. We run and chase each other for hours, while using our humans as bouncy boards. I'm mostly house broken but still have the occasional accident. At night, I burrow under the covers and curl up as close as possible to my foster mommy and daddy. I would make the perfect addition to almost any home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Edie, a Cincinnati Chihuahua/Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Chihuahua/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
