Fiona's Info...

Fiona's Story...
Fiona is a mastiff mix female who is probably 1-2 years old. She is a friendly dog who enjoys interacting with people. As you can see from her pictures, Fiona came to animal control very underweight. She currently weighs about 65 lbs and we believe her proper weight will be somewhere around 75-80 lbs, which is quite small for a mastiff.

Fiona will do best with an adopter who is familiar with the temperament of her breed and has experience owning large breed dogs. Fiona will also need an adopter who clearly establishes himself or herself as the "pack leader" and gives her clear boundaries. Fiona is not very comfortable around children, so we would prefer an adopter who doesn't have children in the home or has children over the age of 12.

If you'd like to meet Fiona, stop by Friendswood Animal Control at 3000 W. Parkwood Ave., Friendswood, TX, or by calling 281-996-3390.

Act quickly to adopt Fiona. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Friendswood Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Friendswood, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Friendswood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Friendswood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Friendswood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Friendswood paves the way for another one to be saved.
