My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Pending - April 2016

Forever Home Needed!

I’m Molly!

I’m a 5yr old (born 2011) female Lab/Husky mix. I am house trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations.

I know I look familiar don’t I? Well that’s cuz I was up for adoption before but then MAR put me on “vacation” so I could get some training in. Nobody’s perfect and I had a few things to work out. I first came to MAR cuz my owner could no longer take me on the walks I love due to medical issues.

We received this update from Molly’s foster Mama:

“Molly did really well over the holidays, she met 4 different dogs and after a noisy introduction they all got along well. Molly does better meeting new dogs off leash when possible. We had a lot of family over and she did really well with the crowd and behaved during dinner. She also met a bunch of kids aged 1 to 16 and did great. The 1 yr old was a little scared of her and Molly picked up on this and gave her the space she needed. We discovered that she loves to chase field mice under the snow and has become quite good at it”

I’m gonna need a furever home that is committed to continue with my training, after all I don’t want all my effort to go to waste! I am very lovable, affectionate, and loyal. (My foster Mama says so!).

Everyone has things they really like about themselves and a few things they wanna work on. I am learning to socialize with other dogs but I need a slow and monitored introduction. I can get uncomfortable when I see them and I get yappy and can lunge at them. I’ve done that with vehicles too and a few people. I tend to pull on my leash when walking but am starting to get the hang of it and walk nicely. I LOVE to chase deer, squirrels, and grouse and bark at them from inside the house. I have a short attention span and bark when people come in the door or driveway. I have been exposed to cats.
I get a little separation anxiety when separated from my people and that makes me whine and pace.

On the upside (whew, I know you were getting worried weren’t ya? ....lol) I am really good in the house. I am very loving and enjoy a good brisk walk and being outside. I love my monkey toy, sticks and playing tug of war too! I am very well potty trained and I don’t guard my food at all. I love the snow and respond great to treats when in training (yum-yum)! Molly’s Foster Mama has successfully integrated her into their home with the resident shi-poo. She thinks she would still prefer to be the only dog, but it's not a necessity. Molly has shown that she can successfully be introduced to other dogs.

I will need a family that is patient and will continue to work with me on training so I can be the best dog that I can be! MAR will even offer my new family training sessions free of charge!
