Gretchen has been adopted! -- Please look at our other Rat Terriers awaiting homes!

Meet Gretchen! Gretchen is an active, playful pup and is probably 7 or 8 months old. She weighs about 18 pounds, but probably will fill out a little more. Gretchen is crate trained and is working hard on her housetraining, and is very eager to please. She is affectionate and loves to play with toys, but her favorite thing to do is give rattie kisses. She is a bit possessive of her person's lap, but minds well when she is corrected. She is an active, playful pup, and needs a home where her training will be continued and reinforced. As with all pups, she needs to learn what is a toy and what is not, and someone who will be diligent with her house training. Do you need a little Gretchen in your life? You have to see more pictures of this girl!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gretchen, a Festus Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Festus, or seeking a Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Festus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Festus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Festus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Festus paves the way for another one to be saved.
