Cody has been adopted! -- Please look at our other Rat Terriers awaiting homes!

Cody is a sweet little guy who came from the shelter underweight, very dirty and starving for some tender loving care. Cody is 16 pounds of solid muscle, completely housetrained, crate trained and good on a leash but needs a little work (sometime car noises scare him). He loves to go for car rides. The vet estimates that he is about 7 years old, which is still very young for a terrier. He is not a puppy but in fact, a very well-mannered calm young man. He is starting to play a little bit with squeaker toys and balls. As he gains more confidence with his living situation, he will really open up and play. Cody loves, loves, loves children. He really comes out of his shell when children are around. Unless there are children around, Cody will just hang out in his crate or outside in the dog house. We believe he should be placed with a family with children that have learned how to treat animals because Cody would really like to have a little girl or boy to hang out with. Cats are also fine with Cody. You must check out these pictures of Cody!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Aberdeen Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Aberdeen, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Aberdeen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aberdeen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aberdeen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aberdeen paves the way for another one to be saved.
