Here's what the humans have to say about me:
To MEET Shiloh - fill out an application. Cut and paste this link into your web browser: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/
Apply to FOSTER: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/how-you-can-help/foster/
Foster parents have the first option to adopt. We will provide all you need to foster.
Weight: 20.3 lbs
Age: 11 months
Personality: He is affectionate, playful and a really sweet dog. You will fall in love with this baby!
His foster family has two young boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats and mom and dad. He is thriving now and gets all long with all of the family members. Shiloh is little afraid of men at first, but if you are slow and allow him to come to you, he warms up quickly. He can be a little hand shy at first.
Coat: His coat is very soft with medium length. So far he really doesn't shed. This may change as he matures.
Training: His foster mom has taught him to sit and lay down. He is very close to learning to shake on command! He walks on a leash well without pulling. He walks by men fine and sticks close-by, but isn't confident yet. Shiloh is very quick to learn, so it's just a matter of reinforcing and socializing!
Potty trained: Yes. He is learning to potty while on a leash, which is new for him, but he uses potty pads quite well.
Health: Excellent health. When he was originally rescued from the shelter as a baby, his stomach was sticking out through his anus. He had to have surgery to treat the infection, which is why he does not have a tail. He's fully recovered now with absolutely no side effects from the surgery.
History: Rescued from a high kill shelter in Korea. Mixed breed dogs have a very hard time getting adopted there, so we brought him here to find the loving family he so richly deserves.
Fostered in: San Pedro
Type of home: Experienced owner who will continue Shiloh's training and socialization. Single person or family, with or without other animals would be ok.
Crate trained: yes, but a little fearful when trapped in a crate, so it's important to let him walk in and walk out on his own and not push him in or out of the crate. Sleeps in the crate, but I'm sure he'd love to sleep in bed with you instead.
Good with Dogs: yes - plays well and has good doggie manners
Good with Kids: yes - foster family has a 3 and a 4 year old
Good with Cats: yes - loves them actually!
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $300
All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
Our adoption process looks like this:
1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized
Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
