Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elijah is a silly, adorable little dude. He loves to chase the ball, play tug of war with the little boy in his foster home and play with toys. He went for his first walk the other day and it thought it was super cool. He is catching on to doing his business on walks as well which is awesome. Elijah loves people watching on his walks and wants to meet everyone. It's adorable.
Elijah is still very much a puppy so he is not completely house trained yet but uses puppy pads and doing a great job. He knows that outside is where to 'do his business' and is doing great with his house training. He is a real smart guy for certain! Elijah loves his people and he enjoys a good cuddle. He also thinks playing is the best and loves to get his puppy energies out. He is learning good puppy manners from his foster dog brother and sister. He has been a quick study. Elijah is working on basic commands like sit and also doing a great job with that. He is also around a small child and does well. He is such a loving puppy with a heart of gold. He will be a wonderful pup for his forever family.
Elijah is estimated to be about 5.5 months old and weighs about 20 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday January 9, 2016, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
