My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To MEET Delilah - fill out an application. Cut and paste this link into your web browser: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Apply to FOSTER: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/how-you-can-help/foster/

Foster parents have the first option to adopt. We will provide all you need to foster.

Weight: 16 1/2 lbs. but is underweight. She is eating well now and will be maybe 25 lbs at a healthy weight for her size. Delilah is on the smaller size for a Brittany,l due to not enough food as she was growing.

Age: 2 (guesstimate)

Personality: Delilah is energetic, playful, and very sweet, but a little shy. She warms up quickly when she's given space to adjust. She hasn't lived in a house before, so everything is new to her! She is doing very well at her foster parents house and gets along great with their other dogs.

Coat: Soft silky coat which will require regular bathing and grooming

Training: Foster parents are working on basic obedience. Knows sit.

Potty trained: Not 100% yet, but she is doing well. Her foster parents say she does well when she is taken outside to go to the bathroom. Since she's not used to living in a house, it will still require more training.

Health: Very healthy. Delilah suffered from a heartworm infection in Korea and was successful treated for it. The vet here says her heart is healthy sounding and she has no other known health issues.

History: Delilah was rescued from a very high kill shelter in Korea. Medium and large size dogs have a difficult time getting adopted there, so a volunteer traveling to California brought her on the plane to us. Once she was rescued in Korea, she lived in an outside boarding facility, so living in the comfort of a warm house is new to her. She thinks California is pretty wonderful and she can't wait to find her forever family.

Fostered in: Fullerton, CA (Local adopters only please)

Type of home: Delilah would benefit from an adopter who will continue to socialize her and train her using positive training methods. She is a sensitive dog who really responds well to kindness. Delilah needs regular exercise and would love to eventually be able to jog with her family, but for the next 6 months, she needs to be walked regularly while her heart continues to heal from the heartworm treatment.

Crate trained: Yes

Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Kids: Yes
Good with Cats: Unknown

Adoption fee (non-refundable): $500

All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.

4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized

Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
