Mama Chi Chi and her son Toto, also listed, were rescued from an elderly woman’s home who was put into the hospital, then hospice and passed away. Mama Chi is very friendly, loving and loves attention and tummy rubs.  She is not really fond of men as she was abused by a man but she does warm up to them after a bit when she realizes that they aren’t going to hurt her. She has suffered a spinal injury in 2 or 3 three places some years back. She is on an anti-inflammatory/pain medication, ¼ tab Rimadyl morning and night, and will be probably the rest of her life. This medication in her dosage is pretty inexpensive. Even with the injury she gets around some for a quick in and out potty.  We did a fund raiser for her to get a wheelchair which she is still adjusting to. She has a wonderful zest for life and a good neurological quality of life. She had a full dental on December 2, 2015.  She is 10-12 yrs old and weighs 5-7 lbs.  Very affectionate and still can do a roll over for her tummy rub.  House trained and does very well for 4-6 hrs.

About Second Chance Companions

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1993, Second Chance Companions is a 501(c) 3 non-profit pet organization dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area.

We are a humane, no-kill organization staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers.

Although we do not run an independent shelter, we feed, care for, adopt out, and spay & neuter as many animals as possible. In addition, we educate the community and are always seeking volunteers and resources that help us to accomplish our mission.

We have a small number of foster homes available, but also work with private owners who keep their pets while looking for homes for them.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have cats available for adoption all the time at the Vancouver Plaza and Gresham Petsmarts.

We also have adoption events most every weekend and often during the week too. See all of our currently scheduled events at:
