Brownie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

Brownie's Story...
Brownie is a 4 year old neutered red Cattle Dog blend. He's asked Santa for a big green bow (cause he's red) and a warm place with a new family for Christmas. He's laid back and sweet as pie but full of energy and raring to go as soon as he can get out of the kennel. Brownie is still a bit iffy with his feet being handled, ok with teeth, ears & tail and thinks it's the best time ever if he can talk you into a belly rub (the soft moans and snuffling are evidence). Brownie is reported as house and kennel trained and has done nicely in his kennel at the rescue. Brownie can be a handful on walks if not corrected quickly; he may take a moment to settle but then ambled along personably though not at heel. It would be best for Brownie to have hands on daily activity as we don't believe he'd do well in a back yard, boredom would most likely cause some bad results. To meet him stop by the rescue 11am till 4 pm any day.

If you want to apply for Brownie click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Valley Humane Society. Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brownie, a Meridian Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
