Hans's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Hans's Story...
Hans is an adorable 8 year old silver miniature schnauzer. He's currently living with three other dogs (from 15-80 pounds) and a cat, and is doing well with all. He's friendly and fun, and loves to cuddle. If you sit down and Hans is nearby, be ready for some company! Hans is crate trained, and is quiet and well-behaved when in his crate. He is as playful and energetic as you want him to be... Happy to be a couch potato when you're spending a lazy Sunday watching movies, but also ready to go on a hike at a moment's notice. This boy is a keeper!

Hans was recently diagnosed with diabetes, so we are currently working to figure out the best dosage of insulin for him. He will require twice a day injections of insulin (he's a rock star at standing still for his injections... foster mom is able to do them all by herself!), and at the moment, he is eating prescription dog food as well. Hans also has a heart murmur, which will be further looked into after his blood sugar is stabilized.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hans, a Newtown Miniature Schnauzer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Schnauzer for sale in Newtown, or seeking a Miniature Schnauzer dog from a breeder in Newtown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newtown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newtown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Schnauzer breeders who help with Miniature Schnauzer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newtown paves the way for another one to be saved.
