My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buckeye is a happy and joyful girl who loves life and everyone in it! She loves snuggling with people, playing with stuffy toys, and she will do anything for a treat. Buckeye came to Midwest BREW from a rural animal control where she was found as a stray, so we don’t know her age, but she is estimated at 10 years old and is quite spunky for a dog who some might consider a senior.

Buckeye loves full body snuggling, but she is also content to settle down by herself or follow her people or other dogs around the house, and every once in a while she gets the zoomies and races around grabbing toys or trying to get other dogs to play with her. She sleeps in her foster family’s bed at night, and once asleep, she doesn’t move until morning.

Buckeye ignores the cats in her foster home, and is expected to do well with most all other pets in a potential new home. She also happens to be blind in one eye, either from birth or an injury, but the only way anyone would know is that one eye appears opaque. Buckeye is generally quiet – so far we have only heard her loud beagle voice when we come home at the end of the work day. She is very good at going outside in the fenced yard to go potty, and she would likely do well on a tie-out or on leashed walks for potty breaks as well. Buckeye has done well the few times she has been crated, but she has run of the house in her foster home and doesn’t get into any trouble.

Buckeye would love to find her one and only forever home where she can enjoy snuggles and playtime with people who know what a special girl she is, and we would love to hear from you if can offer that to her!
