Skippy's Story...
Hello World,
My name is Skippy – and I’m a very cute Bichon/poodle boy of five who weighs only 13 pounds soaking wet (and about the same when I’m dry, too!) My foster mom says that good things come in smallish packages and I’m an incredibly cute ‘package.’ (I’m not sure what that means but she smiles when she says it!)
Besides being sweet, affectionate and eager to please I am also very SMART. Why I've created this really neat game that I play with Mom and Dad. Here's how it works: They sit far apart on the floor (only to start the game) and I run back and forth between Mom and Dad. Then I sit in front of one of them to be petted, then run to the other person when they call me - and sit pretty so I can get petted again. Of course Mom and Dad are giggling when I do this and they say that I always look like I'm smiling when they look at me. And any display of affection makes me smile even more!
Dad says to tell you that I'm good with kids and other dogs (I love to be petted and receive attention. Oh, he means petted by the kids, of course) and I happily greet anyone I meet on our walks. Mom says I've never, ever met a stranger 'cause I think everyone is my new best friend.
Of course I'm totally housebroken (no typo there) and I do like to ride in the car. I'm always happy to go on a walk (the minute Mom gets the harness and leash out I know that we will soon be on our way - and I like that a lot! At the moment I'm not very interested in toys - but I'm always interested in people!
At first I didn't understand what a toy was for. But I just discovered this soft furry ball and Mom says I look adorable running around and playing with it!
As the day winds to a close you will often find me on the bed, waiting for Mom and Dad to join me. (I kind of figure if I go there and they come to find me that they might decide I'm just too adorable to leave on the bed by myself - so they'll hop in.) Needless to say I sleep contentedly in the Big People's bed all night long, with a smile on my face!
Mom and Dad say that I deserve a great person, couple or family looking for someone to become their best buddy, who will spend a lot of time with me and make me the center of their world. You see while I can happily and quietly sit on the couch or in my bed if you are busy with something I'm truly happiest being able to sit on/with my people. There is no doubt that I'm a really good pup who will get better and better with consistent love and attention!
So if you’re looking for a loving, cute, sweet, happy and attentive little guy, with long legs and a heart full of love, just ask for me. I’ll be waiting to meet you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skippy, a La Costa Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
