Hercules has been with us for over a year! Why can't we find him a home???? He is a 7 year old pit/bulldog mix. He might be handicapped, but don't let his appearance fool you. Hercules is as mighty as his name. He has an amazing spirit and personality. He loves to run around in the yard and sun himself on warm days. He also loves soup bones and stuffed squeaky toys. Hercules is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, crate trained, and house broken. Hercules did have heartworm when he came to us, but has been treated and recovered. He must stay on heartworm preventative such as heart guard for the remainder of his life. Hercules does care for cats and because of his strength, should not be around small children. He is a wonderful little guy who deserves to finally find a family.

About Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small foster based rescue, not a shelter, comprised of multiple individuals that open their homes to stray, sick, and forgotten animals in need. We began the rescue in the Ligonier Area to focus on issues of stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. We often took in animals for the local police departments instead of having them sent to animal control. We have since expanded and try to cooperate with the public, other rescues, and other animal groups to assist any animal in need. Our primary focus area for intake though is still the Ligonier Valley. Adoptions can be made to any area as long as the adoption process is completed.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Arrangements can be made to visit with any of our pets, but because we are foster based and do not have one facility, appointments must be made to do so. To visit with a pet, please contact us at 814-421-7078 by phone or text.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process consists of an initial application for the animal of interest, followed by reference checks (both personal and with a veterinarian), a home visit, and finally if approved an adoption contract. All animals are required to be inside companion pets and the owner must maintain veterinary care throughout the life of the animal.

Adoption fees are $150 for dogs, unless it fostered through us for another rescue and $75 for cats.

All animals are up to date with vaccinations and spayed/neutered before adoption.
