Desiree is a 9 year old female Jack Russell Terrier. All her vet work is done. She is cuddly and loving. She will play fetch FOREVER! She LOVES to go for walks but also is a total couch potato. She loves to go for car rides and sits between us on the drink holder with a pillow as she cannot fathom not being in the center of things. When we first got her from the shelter at the beginning of November she marked in the house, but we just had her spayed so that may stop in time. She weighs 20 pounds, but could gain a pound or two. She was in the shelter for over a week when we got to her. We feel positive she was on the road for much longer and was used as someone’s backyard breeder before that. She had NO idea how to be a pet but she is learning. She loves to be held but hates to be picked up. She is very smart and easily trained. She sits, lies down, and comes when called, all the basics. She does not like to be left outside alone now. She will bark and cry until you come get her. She wants to be with you wherever you are. Desi needs a very JRT savvy adopter who will understand her terrier ways and who will be willing to patiently train her. She must be an only dog for the rest of her life. Desi will do best with a quiet consistent life without a lot of activity and stimulation. Our sweet girl has not been treated well and needs someone who will show her the love and companionship she longs for. Desi needs a home with no cats and no kids. We will not ship her out of state.
