My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing the "chips pups" - these cuties arrived as owner surrenders, along with their mama who is also going to be up for adoption. The pups were born on 10/22/15.

Mama weighs just a little over 60 pounds, and the suspected father is a pitbull of about the same size, so, we'd expect the pups to be right around that weight when full grown. They will be ready to go to their new homes on 1/8/16. Santitas is an adorable girl - love that deep black nose!

These pups should adapt to homes with other pets and/or children, and all have short coats and will do best as indoor family dogs. Please be sure your landlord (if you rent), municipality, and/or homeowner's insurance will allow pitbulls. Raising a pitbull is a bigger burden than raising other pups; your new family member needs to be taught perfect manners and obedience so they will be an ambassador for this misunderstood breed. Please be prepared to go the extra mile for your puppy, and show the world how wonderful pitbulls really are!

Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic (if fairly short - those legs are tiny) walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. These pups hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter (this litter will have had 2 rounds of vaccinations prior to placement, with a booster about 2-3 weeks later; they will then need rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age).

Santitas comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period. We will closing the first round of applications for these pups no later than 1/5/16, and will then work with approved adopters to assign pups based on individual "pupsonalities" that will be developing during their time in the shelter's care.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $118; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
