My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wow! What an adventure. I went from one house to another one and then to another one. I was in too many different cars and trucks to count. Now I'm in a place where I get to be inside with people and I get lots of attention. I don't know what I did to get all this special treatment but I love it and I try to show everyone I meet that I love them by sitting nicely and leaning in so they can pet me.
I don't really like going in a crate, but when they want me in there they put treats in for me so I say thank you by going in and sitting calmly. I haven't barked or whined at all in the crate and I'm quiet all night so they can sleep. They seem to like that.
I didn't know I shouldn't leave my mark for all the other dogs here in this house, so I did. They very nicely told me no and took me outside.
So I'm trying to save all that stuff for outside. There's a big yard here with lots of room to run and a fence around it so we can have it all to ourselves. When I go out I get to go wherever I want to do my business. So I get done right away and run back and sit at the door. Then we go back in and relax.
The people here seem to know that I've had a rough time and need patience and understanding to be the dog I'm truly meant to be. We are taking one day at a time and going slow. Well, most of the time anyway.
Like the other day when he took Fin and me for a 2 mile walk. He's another BC and a lot like me and we got along really well. I made sure I didn't pull too much and I tried really hard not to be too interested in the horses, chickens, and all the car and trucks we passed. I'm not sure why he wanted me to sit and wait by the road but he was happy when I did. After all the cars were gone he said cross. I didn't know what that meant, but Fin got up so I did too. Then we crossed the road and walked to the other side.
Since I've been here they have taken me to the vet and to the bank. All the people were nice to me so I was nice to them too. The bank manager sat right on the floor and gave me lots of hugs and treats!
I'm learning new things every day and getting more relaxed. I sure hope I get to my forever home soon.

Norman
