My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, um – hi! My name is Charity. I’m a 3 year old yorkie-poodle terrier mix, and am nervous, but really grateful to make new friends. AS you can probably tell, I’m very, very shy. In fact, sometimes when I meet new people I cower and shake. Thanks to my friends at NBS, I’m learning that human touch can be a really nice and wonderful thing. All it takes is some patience, gentle ear rubs, and a soft treat – and I’ll paw for more of your attention. So far, aside from learning that people have love and kindness to share, I’m also learning to potty outside, since I normally use pee-pads. But BRRR! That is a chilly lesson, but I am doing pretty great with my potty training transition. My foster parents said that there a more people like them out there, and although the world is a big and scary place – it can also be very fun and exciting. I’d prefer to explore that world one step at a time – in a fenced in yard. Being on a leash is pretty overwhelming for me, as it lots of commotion. It would be best that I be in a home with no small children (15years+). Once I feel safe and have a minute to settle in – I do get pretty flirty and like to run down the hall, play bow – and wiggle for your attention. It would be great to have a lap of my very own to snuggle in, with a home that is willing to build up my confidence, and keep showing me what a wonderful world it can be.

Do you think you would have room in your heart, and a calm home for a timid little gal like me?
You can apply for me, or learn about my adoptable friends at www.NBSAnimalRescue.com.

Thanks! Love, Charity**

P.S. Every dog in NBS has different needs, and are evaluated if they need any special accomodations. Requirements for my home, specifically are:

- Family with no kids, or kids 15 years+
- 100% fenced yard.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

Do you think I might be the perfect addition to your family and want to meet me?? Please:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.

3.) Call your references and let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number as they will be speaking with a member of our team as a personal references.

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
