'Your final stop for your furever friend!'

Sandra Dee makes being a statuesque goof ball look easy. Don't let this elegant patent leather pitty bull mix fool you though. She is just comfortable playing fetch and hunting mice as she is snuggling on the couch. Sandra Dee was found at about 6 weeks old on a chain with no food or water in the cold. Dee is now almost 2 and has learned how to be a good family member. She is wonderful with other dogs, good with cats that don't run, walks well on leash, is house trained, and uses a doggy door. Dee bonds closely with other dogs and would love to have a doggy brother or sister to play with during the day. Because she likes chasing squirrels, she will need a fenced in yard. She is super smart; knows 'sit' 'shake' 'lay down' and 'touch' and would make an excellent agility dog! And her silly antics will keep you laughing. Dee is heartworm negative, spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and ready to start a new life with a loving active household. If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please go to to complete your application today!!

We require that ALL current household pets be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and up to date on heartworm prevention. We will require confirmation from your veterinarian. If renting, we must have landlord approval. A fence is not a requirement for ALL of our dogs. Fences are a case-by-case determination.

Our Adoption Process...

The Pit Stop adoption process:
You will first need to complete a Pre-Adoption Application. Once you have returned the application, we will review it and send it back to you with any questions/concerns that we may have. If all checks out, you will be approved.
One approved, we will come out to your home for a home visit and bring the dog(s) that you are interested in adopting or dog(s) that we believe would be a perfect fit for you and your family.
Once the home check is complete and approved, we will offer to have the dog you are interested in stay with you for a few days to make sure everything works out. If everything works out, you are ready to adopt!
During the adoption, there will be a contract that will be signed, one copy for adopter & one copy for the rescue. We will provide you with all current vet records. In the contract, you agree to not neglect the dog, not tie up the dog, keep dog current on vaccination & you agree to allow your vet to release all records to the rescue as we will follow up. We will do un-scheduled home visits to check to make sure the dog is being taken care of. In the contract, you will agree to update us on change of address/phone number and keep us current with happy trails and pictures.
